First time going tonight to the Carlton show to see Matty Kennedy and Paddy Dow and I loved it because you get to see the boys in a much more relaxed environment amongst there supporters and hear what really goes on the club behind the scenes. Maybe you should alter this? False advertising? I was there - the boys were spirited away without one photo or autograph. Just beware if taking kids - they might be disappointed if you believe what they say. Went to precinct hotel when living in melb to see 2 of my blues. So much fun & good insight into players everyday things. Now I’m living in Drouin/Warragul would love shows up this way. So many fans of all clubs up here. Trains are full either going or coming home. Plenty of hotels & clubs that I’m sure would be suitable to hold shows. Warragul Downtowner club is nice. Great show last night at the Matthew Flinders. This was the third time that I attended ‘That’s Good For Footy’ this year and it didn’t disappoint. Dammo and Sandy do a magnificent job. Last night my 7 year old niece and 8 year old nephew came for the first time and they both had an absolute ball - my nephew coming up on stage and my niece having a photo with/meeting her idol, Steele Sidebottom. Yes that’s good for footy is a business by dammo and sandy and has been doing for some years so what I don’t see the afl putting night every week all around Australia with the best bunch of current and past players in afl from Melbourne based clubs I’ve been to far too show to recall but it’s the best $10 I spend a week I get a insight to the other side of the players not seen on the field you get a photo and meet and greet them and you can also grab a signature or two and yes all for $10 They do an amazing show and hats of to them but they don’t need to put up with this crap I go to all the teams and wouldn’t even minding paying more if it meant the show to continue I’ve paid $40/$50 for the shows at times and still believe that’s good value I’ve been to live taping of footy show , live and kicking and game day and one u don’t get to meet the panel you get told when to laugh and they even have a warm up guy plus cardboard cut outs!!!!! $10 for that’s good for footy for meet and greet chance to win prizes and grab a signature I there every day of the week!!!!!!! The events are great. Funny segments, excellent player access and usually candid responses due to the relaxed environment created by the host. Most venues are good too. I've been to a few of these in the eastern suburbs over the past 12 months. My only complaint is how the booking and entry to the venues are handled. I've mentioned this many times but nothing has changed. We all arrive with a ticket/booking confirmation. They have barcode on them could be quickly scanned if you invested in a barcode scanner. If they cost too much, and the tick-off at the door has to be handled manually, WHY ON EARTH is the list of attendees not sorted alphabetically?? In LAST NAME ORDER preferably! Instead, every single time, we've had to stand in a long queue outside the venue (twice in the pouring rain!) while EVERY NAME on the list is read over looking for each person as they arrive! This is such a simple solution that would be easy to implement - it would take two mins to sort the list alphabetically and print out before the event. Looking unprofessional sets a bad tone for people as they arrive. And standing unnecessarily in the rain for well over half an hour doesn't lift one's spirits either. I've often stood outside wondering why the queue was moving so slow. It wasn't just because there was no barcode scanner or a sorted list, but tickets to the raffle were being sold at the same time! I think this should be done once people are IN the venue, maybe a quick walk around to people at their seats or standing at the bar when they have their money out. It's not a personal attack on Sandy who is always friendly and welcoming, it's just a suggestion that I think would make her job easier too.read more
